As a 2XU ambassador, Ann-Kathrin Boll embodies what triathlon is all about - performance, endurance and experiencing the world through movement. In Malta, every swim, ride and run becomes part of the experience. From Mediterranean coastlines to historic streets shaped by wind, salt and sunlight, it’s a destination best explored through training. Compact in size, but vast in what it offers athletes.
MEET ANN-KATHRIN BOLL
Ann-Kathrin Boll experiences destinations through movement. For her, training is more than structure — it’s about feeling a place. As a 2XU Ambassador, she combines consistency with intuition: knowing when to push, and when to simply move and take it in. In Malta, that balance becomes natural — shifting between performance and experience, without separating the two.
DISCOVER MALTA
Malta is layered. Golden limestone cities rising above deep blue water. Balconies painted in colour, doors slightly open, life unfolding behind them. Church bells, small cafés, fishermen, narrow streets that suddenly open to the sea. Everything is close. Everything is different.
STOP 1
MORNING SWIM IN THE BAY
Early morning. The island is still quiet. You enter the water just after sunrise. The bay is calm, almost flat. Visibility stretches meters below you — rocks, light reflections, shifting colours between turquoise and deep blue. This is not a pool session. This is immersion. For me, this is the best way to start the day — no noise, no distractions, just movement and water.
STOP 2
JOURNEY ALONG THE CLIFFS
The ride starts directly from the hotel. No transfers, no waiting — just heading out and seeing where the road takes you. The terrain keeps changing: short climbs, fast descents, wide coastal sections where the sea is always there. You don’t have to plan much here. You just go — and the island kind of unfolds on its own. You pass small villages, roadside cafés, viewpoints that don’t need signs. Every kilometer feels different.
STOP 3
GOZO: RIDE, SWIM, EXPLORE
Gozo feels different. Quieter. More raw. More open. You ride through landscapes that feel untouched — less structure, more space, more freedom to just move. After the ride, getting back into the water shifts the focus again. From open roads to structured movement — that mix is what makes it interesting.
STOP 4
RUNNING THROUGH HISTORY
Running in Malta feels different. It’s not about pace or splits. It’s more about how it feels to move through these places. Narrow streets, warm stone, early light — everything slows you down a little, in a good way. You become more aware of your surroundings, your steps, your rhythm.
STOP 5
MALTA BETWEEN THE SESSIONS
The moments in between matter just as much. A quick espresso after a ride. Fresh seafood by the water. Sunsets that slow everything down. Malta is not rushed. Even when you move fast, the island keeps its own pace.
